SPiCE India 2020, scheduled for 25-27 March at Goa Marriot Resort & Spa, has been postponed due to the travel advisory issued by the Indian government, dated 11 March 2020, which cancels all existing visas for foreign nationals except diplomatic and employment visas from 13 March until 15 April 2020 to curtail the COVID-19 impact.

In an email to the attendees, Eventus International, the organizer of the event, informed, “due to the recent border restrictions (announced by the Government of India on 11 March 2020), specifically pertaining to the cancellation of all foreign national visas, it is not possible for us to go ahead with SPiCE India 2020 on its scheduled dates. We are therefore left with no choice other than to postpone the event to a later date.”

The new dates for the 3rd Annual Edition of SPiCE India in Goa have not been announced yet. A press release by Eventus states that they will shortly announce the new dates after discussions with their stakeholders and advisors. The organizer of the event also assured that all the delegate passes for the event will remain valid and transferred to the new dates.

On the postponement of the event, Yudi Soetjiptadi, Managing Director of Eventus International, commented, “Although our team was fully ready to host the event as per schedule and all preparations were done, due to recent developments and the most recent travel ban issued by the Indian government, it is impossible for us to continue with SPiCE India 2020 on schedule. We are evaluating the situation further and will discuss with our advisors and stakeholders before making an announcement on the new dates. Despite this postponement we look forward to welcoming all our clients to the third annual SPiCE India on its new dates. We hope everyone stays healthy and safe!”

SPiCE India 2020, besides various panel discussions, networking events and presentations, was supposed to host SPiCE Awards. The final nominees of all the award categories were recently announced.
