The Rummy Federation to organise Skill Gaming Summit on 19th July in Mumbai
Industry body The Rummy Federation (TRF) has announced that it would be hosting a ‘Skill Gaming Summit’ at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai on 19th July, 2018.
The day-long Skill Gaming Summit is expected to focus on the need and benefits of regulations in the online skill gaming segment. The conference brings together a panel of gaming experts including regulators from the international markets like New Jersey, Malta, and United Kingdom.
TRF will also unveil a rummy industry whitepaper and a framework of regulations for online rummy companies, that will focus on responsible gaming and player protection.
The summit will have three panel discussions focused namely, ‘Insights from International Regulators’, ‘Online skill gaming: Opportunity and outlook’ and ‘Current issues and benefits of regulations’.
Some of the speakers at the event include Deepak Gullapalli, CEO of Ace2Three; Trivikraman Thampy, CEO of Rummycircle; Ankush Gera, CEO of Junglee Rummy; Vaibhav Kakkar, Partner of law firm Luthra & Luthra; Suhaan Mukerji, partner of policy firm PLR Law Chambers and Karl Brincat Peplow, COO of Malta Gaming Authority.
Commenting on the announcement of the Skill Gaming Summit, Mario Galea, President of TRF said, “With a high growth rate and improvement in technology infrastructure facilitating the booming ITES (Information Technology and Information Technology enabled services) industry in India, online rummy too has gained increasing acceptability across rummy players in India.
This growing industry is now poised at a point where it is apt for the stakeholders to collectively self-regulate by benefiting from each other’s experience. The Rummy Federation, an initiative by the online Rummy industry, proactively adopts state-of-the-art practices from countries where the gaming industry is regulated and lays down stringent self-governance guidelines for online rummy operators. This initiative will ensure that the online rummy industry offers healthy and sustainable entertainment to rummy players across the country.”
